Hello Mission Lacrosse families,
We happy to announce that registration will open on the 15th of January.
Like Field lacrosse we will be offering an altered season due to COVID. This alteration is ever changing and we understand that you will have lots of questions. We will attempt to answer as many as we can before hand.
I LEFT MY REGISTRATION WITH THE ASSOCIATION LAST YEAR, HOW DO I REGISTER THIS YEAR?
If you are one the families that chose to keep your registration fees from the 2020 season with the association and did NOT request a refund, when you register this year please select SPONSORSHIP and leave a note in the comment section to this effect.
I ONLY HAD ONE CHILD PLAYING LAST YEAR AND LEFT MY MONEY WITH THE ASSOCIATION AND NOW I WILL HAVE TWO, HOW DO I REGISTER?
If you had one child registered last year and need to register a second that was not registered last year please proceed as normal and pay only for the child that was not originally registered. Make sure you leave a comment regarding this with children’s names.
I PAID FOR A HOODIE AND SOCKS LAST YEAR WITH MY REGISTRATION, HOW DO I CHANGE THE SIZING AND INSURE I STILL GET IT?
The Association will be putting your order in. We are cross referencing our data base and if you purchased a hoodie and /or socks you will be contacted by Shannon Meindl to update your sizing.
*Under no circumstance will a child be permitted to practice or play without fees being paid in full.
*If you are applying for Kids Sport or other sponsorship please leave a comment as to that effect and when you applied.
*Dust off are tentatively scheduled to occur before the season starts. Your child must be registered to attend the rust off sessions.
*At this time, we do not know if games will happen and if they do, how they will be structured. As soon as we know we will send the info out to the association. We do not control these decisions. We must wait for the CLA, BCLA and The District to inform us of what we are allowed to do.
Before the Dust off the Rust sessions a full refund, less a $30 administration fee, will be given
Once the Dust off the Rust sessions have begun refunds will be provided at 50%
After the season has begun there will be no further refunds.
Refunds will be processed the 15th and last day of the month in which they are recieved.
NO CHEQUES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

We have positions that need you!
Mission Lacrosse is looking for volunteers for several positions. If you’re interested in any of the positions, please respond to email@example.com by no later than Friday Oct 2nd by 4pm.
Responsible for managing the club’s equipment inventory and needs. This includes managing the allotted budget for equipment purchases and repairs, loaning out and collecting team equipment each season, and facilitating club swag orders (hoodies, socks, etc). This person will also be in charge of overseeing any assistants needed for this role.
This person will manage the club’s website, Facebook and Instagram accounts. They will take the information being sent out from the executive via email and ensure the necessary information is posted in those spots as well. They will also be the contact person for posting any photos, celebrations and other club news as it happens this season.
This position oversees the coaching needs of our association. They are involved in the coaching selection process and they ensure all coaches have the required training. They are available to the coaches throughout the season for support as needed.
This person will be responsible for club communication with individual team managers. They will assist managers in learning the requirements of the role and ensuring all necessary procedures are followed. They will be available to the team managers throughout the season for support as needed.
With the latest update that we are moving into Phase 3 of viaSport’s Return to Play guidelines, and league play likely in the coming weeks, coaches will now be able to apply to become a coach for our 20/21 season.

To our members,
This week has been a welcoming and positive one for the immediate future of lacrosse in BC. The Provincial Government announced viaSport’s move to Phase 3 of the Return to Sport guidelines. In response, the BCLA says it’s aligning the next phase of its guidelines to accommodate the new phase.
Due to these developments, we are now expecting the PCFLL field lacrosse season to begin in early October. The PCFLL executive met on Thursday to discuss the timeline of that season, as well as some of the specifics. We will see a modified version of field lacrosse that includes things like no faceoffs and cohort groups of 4 teams to meet the province’s strict return-to-play guidelines.
Given that we now know we will be playing games earlier than expected, we will be moving directly into Phase 2 of our own plan, which includes announcing coaches and teams. Team declarations are due to the league on September 15, so now is the time to register.
You will not be allowed to register your son or daughter after our registration window, which is open until September 18. We are encouraging you to register now to help give us a good idea of what teams we will be fielding this season.

We are in discussions with the District of Mission to expedite our return to play plan in order to get it approved in time for league play. However, the District is still undecided in whether or not to allow games to happen at the Mission Sports Park. We encourage you to voice your support for our plan and to play home games to the District. You can reach them via email at email@example.com.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the MLC will be hosting our AGM on Zoom this year on September 29 at 6pm. We will send out more information, including the Zoom Meeting ID/password and voting instructions, closer to the AGM date. We’re hoping this online format will allow for more families to attend. Each family receives one vote in the executive election, so please come join us and help shape the future direction of our club.

There are multiple voting positions up for election, as well as some non-voting positions. Our club is growing and we can accomplish so much with more hands on deck! We’d love to welcome you to the team!
Voting Positions Up For Election – these are all 2 year positions
Vice President of Box
This position reports to the President and focuses primarily on the Box Lacrosse side of our organization. Some of the duties include attending meetings of governing bodies when necessary, and chairing Mission Lacrosse Executive meetings when the President is unable to do so. The VP of Box works directly with the Head Coach of Box, the Equipment Manager and other members of the executive to ensure the box season goes smoothly. More information about this role can be provided upon request.
This position reports to the President and is responsible for the club’s documentation with various governing bodies, as well as maintaining records of club communication (ex: meeting minutes) and booking the monthly executive meetings. More information about this role can be provided upon request.
Director (3 positions available)
These voting positions are great for people wanting to get involved with the club at the executive level for the first time! They are voting positions that do not carry a specific responsibility, other than attending the monthly executive meetings and participating in the discussion and decision making process of the club. Opportunities arise to volunteer for various activities throughout the season (ex: fundraising, organizing, etc.). More information about these roles can be provided upon request.
Head Coach – Box
This job includes recruiting coaches, both head and assistants, for all teams within our association. Requirements will include providing some mentorship, previous experience as a coach, and the ability to think towards the future. You will also decide which head coaches will be picked for teams and tasked with getting all coaches into annual clinics.
Equipment Manager and Assistant – Box and Field
This is a really important position that is a cornerstone of our club! The job entails keeping an inventory of all gear loaned out by the program, and working with suppliers to find new gear, particularly for goaltenders. You will work with the MLC executive to fill orders for things like sweatshirts, socks and jerseys.
Please let us know if you have any questions leading up to the AGM. We will be hosting an association town hall over Zoom on Sunday, September 13 at 6 pm. We will have more details on how to register for that over the next few days. This is in order to layout the season plan, our return to play plan, and to answer any lingering questions families may have about this season and the process.
