Mission Field Lacrosse Season Plan
The 2019-20 Field Lacrosse season will be split into two phases. This is being done to be better prepared for when we move into league play. This could be approved at any time given how fluid the COVID-19 situation has been. The pandemic has given the executive the opportunity to explore and look at several new and creative ways to make this field season work and further the development of our players.
We would like to note that in order to be in compliance with insurance liability, you must opt into Phase 1 in order to be eligible to play in Phase 2.
Phase 1 will see us in our own “bubble” with a focus on skill development, fitness training and intrasquad scrimmages. It will run from mid-September until early December. Practices will follow our return to play plan and will run once or twice a week depending on the age level. We are aiming to hold one intrasquad scrimmage per age group per week. Players will be evaluated but still grouped by age. There will be no tryouts to make a team.
Phase 2 will be brought before the executive for approval whenever we are moved into the next phase of the BCLA plan and are approved for competitive league games. Additional fees up to $50 per player may be required in order to cover things like additional field time and referee fees.
In the event restrictions are not lifted, we will continue with Season A until late February.
NOTE: Players who are not registered between August 15 and September 18 or who do not participate in Phase 1 will not be permitted to continue into Phase 2, as they will not be covered by insurance.
